Feature film recorded with SI-2K will be screened at Camerimage Film Festival next Monday

(For Immediate Release) Ottobrunn, Germany – We are happy to inform you about the screening of the feature film “Slumdog Millionaire” (Dir. Danny Boyle, DoP Anthony Dod Mantle) at the Camerimage Film Festival next week.

 The screening takes place on Monday, December 1st at 7:45 pm in the Grand Theatre at the Camerimage Film Festival. Anthony Dod Mantle shall be present for the screening and an additional press conference is planned.  “Slumdog Millionaire”, the new movie of British director Danny Boyle (“Trainspotting”) won the prestigious people’s award at the Toronto Film Festival. European cinema releases start in January (France, UK, Belgium), February (Finland, Netherlands). On German screens it can be watched from March 19th, 2009.

 In the enchanting and sweeping comedy Danny Boyle tells the story of a teenager in the slums of Mumbai, who wins in the Indian version of the TV game “Who wants to be A Millionaire?” combined with a love story.

 The impressive images were shot with a hand-held setup of the SI-2K Mini camera head and recorded on a ruggedized notebook recording unit, built by Pille Filmgerateverleih, this past autumn / winter in India. Director of Photography Anthony Dod Mantle was supported by the German DIT and B unit cameraman Stefan Ciupek. It was planned to shot on 35mm film and with the SI-2K Digital Camera System for the hand-held scenes in the Mumbai slums. In the end far more than half of the project was realized with the SI-2K.
